A Game of Rhones: An Exceptional Rhône Valley Wine Dinner at Baldwin’s Bistro
On 8 October 2026 at 8:00 pm, Baldwin’s welcomed guests for a special evening celebrating the remarkable wines and food of France’s Rhône Valley. Titled “A Game of Rhones,” the event brought together a sense of discovery, fine dining and the distinctive character of one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions.
The Rhône Valley has a rich history. Its wines were admired by the Avignon Popes and were prized long before that, in the days of Ancient Rome. Today, names such as Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage and Châteauneuf-du-Pape continue to excite wine lovers around the world. The region is known for expressive varieties including Syrah, Grenache and Viognier, and for wines shaped by a remarkable diversity of landscapes and traditions.
The evening’s theme followed a playful journey through the Rhône: from the Palais des Papes in Avignon to the Hermit on the hill at Tain-l’Hermitage, from the roasted slopes of Brune et Blonde to Orange’s Arc de Triomphe. With the promise that “no galets roulés shall be left unturned,” guests were invited to explore the region glass by glass.
A special dégustation menu was prepared by the kitchen Chef Guy Baldwin, designed to make the dinner a celebration of both fine cuisine and exceptional wine. The event went well, and the evening offered a memorable opportunity for guests to come together over a shared appreciation of the Rhône Valley’s heritage, its celebrated producers and its distinctive wines.
